YM turned
their previous good performances into results against a much fancied
Glasgow Harp at Bishopbriggs. The East Kilbride team started
the game well and were dominant in the first half but missed a few
chances early on which their play thoroughly deserved.
The first goal of the game started with
a cross from Patterson which was headed towards the back post by
McCulloch where McDonald, with his back to goal, somehow managed to
loop the ball over the keeper into the net.
The second goal was an excellent worked
move when, man of the match Bovill, won the ball and passed to
Hannah who played an excellent defence splitting pass into the box
for McDonald who squared for a tap in by Woods.
After half time Glasgow Harp had
slightly more possession than they did in the first half but rarely
troubled YM who looked comfortable and continued to play the better
football. The third goal came after David Thomson closed down
the defender whose clearance only went as far as Hannah, who from 25
yards, fired in an unstoppable shot which nestled in the bottom left
hand corner of the net.
As the game drew to an end the home team
scored a goal after a cross form the right was headed low into the
YM net.
The game was finished as a contest when a
ball out of defence from Wade was cleverly dummied by Hill for
Keddie to collect on the left flank. Keddie drove in on goal
and cut the ball back to Woods who finished well by sliding the ball
under the keeper.
An excellent result allied to an excellent
performance which was enjoyed by everyone on the (YM) sidelines.
